Ordered home delivery . The whole barramundi was Devine, and the tamarind sauce that came with it , excellent . The Tom Yum , broth intense and a nice bit of chilli, 3 whole prawns , added a beautiful taste to the broth . Pork hock with chilli vinegar , yum .Very polite staff and helpful. Delivered on time . Highly recommend
Waitress very helpful, chef came out to clarify food allergy for a diner. Friendly service - would definitely recommend
Our entrees were the 'bad' bit. My daughter's curry puffs were the smallest we have ever seen! My husband had his favourite entree - chicken satay - and was very disappointed. The chicken was very poor quality, fatty...to the point that he could not eat it. He sent it back. But the main meals were fine - no complaints there. Tasty and generous serves. The ambiance is a little lacking - quite austere really, nothing on the walls. Not a lot of atmosphere.
Our party of 4 dined at Cilantro on a recent Sunday nite out - service was that good balance of friendly polite/efficient customer focussed attentiveness - Raymond the chef/owner also visited to enquire about our preferences with Thai cuisine - we had roti (served with a peanut sauce) as starters and then the lemon grass beef salad, the Panang curry, and the beef stir fry with seasonal vegetables plus the red curry prawn stir fry also with seasonal vegetables as our mains, with jasmine riceand of course all that accompanied by several bottles of BYOG - on this occasion we brought along some full flavoured NZ cab sauvignonthe entree and mains all arrived on-time per the timetable we requested - and every dish was WONDERFULLY full flavoured, as also requested by us - (definitely not the dumbed down bland sorts of flavours you regrettably get too often in restaurants targeting a mass customer base at the cost of providing a real thai cuisine experience to those who want just that!) I'm from Sydney and the 3 others Melb locals - we all rate the food experience at Cilantro highly - I would even say the equal to Thai restaurants like Cheddi Thai and Thai-Riffic in Sydney's Newtown/trendy eat streets locationsits not a huge establishment with a masses of 'buzz' - but clean and tidy with comfortable furniture/furnishings plus very good yet non-intrusive service all set in an unrushed and pleasant ambience - so the total experience was more than just fine - it was very good - good enough for us to already plan another group visit as soon as I am back in Melband the cost: not bargain basement prices but value for moneyand remember - for the best experience - take the opportunity to let Raymond know exactly what your taste preferences are and he will deliver
