Despite having made a reservation, our table did not have any wine glasses when we arrived. We had to use glasses taken from other tables. The biggest issue was that our orders were taken and then forgotten, leaving us waiting for our food for minutes to hours. The server never checked on us or asked if we needed anything to drink, so we had to get up and place our own orders at the bar. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
We always leave Poppy's satisfied, never disappointed. The authentic Thai food, like the local chicken Thai green curry and the beef massaman curry, is delicious. Our favorites are the sweet spring rolls and Satay skewers. We will be loyal customers of Poppy's for life!
When we arrived at the restaurant, we were cold and hungry. However, we were pleased to find a warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. We decided to try one of the specials, a spicy prawn red curry, and found it to be deliciously hot and flavorful. I opted for a vegetarian tom yum soup, but unfortunately it contained fish sauce, which I do not like. I returned the soup and the waitress informed me that it actually did not contain fish sauce, which was disappointing. Another member of our group ordered a pad thai without chili, but was also disappointed. Overall, our dining experience was not satisfying and we do not plan on returning.
Decided to try croydon poppy’s instead of the very good but extremely silent Thai tables in bayswater. the service at poppy’s was good and eating quickly arrived, which, like our taste buds, had been stimulated by the aromes of neighboring tables....Will return.
The line was horribly long and moving very slow because of being understaffed.
