Thai Pothong - Marrickville

They use baby eggplants and that is an indication of how good these meals are. terrific take away. reminded me of the more expensive long grain in surrey hills. we will use this place again. we use menulog regularly and this is one of the best delivery restaurant to the inner west

We decided to give Thai Potong a try during our visit to family in Marrickville. Once inside we realised it was a BYO Thai so there was a quick trip to the nearby liquor Store for a bottle of wine.Thai Potong is quite small inside, unlike its sister restaurant in Newtown. It was already busy with several groups but we were given table for two and handed our menus. It took awhile before we could attract the attention of a waiter but then they were busy.Our order was taken and we didn't have to wait very long before our food arrived.We'd ordered steam vegetables and for some unknown reason they were delivered to our table first and soon went from hot to barely warm. Our other dishes arrived soon after and were hot and generous in size. We enjoyed the dishes we selected although my partner is not a fan of chilli which features in most Thai dishes.All in all a pleasant dining experience.

Not only did we love our food, the service was outstanding. Lovely servers. Didn't wait long for food and every mouthful was amazing. Loved the seafood coconut. Best we have had!

Returned to our favourite Thai eatery in Marrickville tonight - to find it was packed - the friendly staff welcomed us and ushered us to a table towards the back of the restaurant. Whilst reviewing the menu, another table of 6 and 5 respectively were seated so we ordered promply! The food and service here is faultless. Our entrée of fishcakes arrived promptly, was piping hot and delicious; and despite the two tables of 6 and 5 ordering before us, we did not endure a long wait period for our meals to start arriving. As always, the food was delicious, fragrant and so fresh. Crispy pork wih broccoli, my husband's favourite was delicious I tried for the first time the curry barramundi which was fantastic. Staff were attentive and just made our visit feel like we were right at home. It has been a while between visits but tonight's experience reminded us of why we have to revisit soon.

Thai Pothong never disappoints. Food is delicious, such helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend for families, couples or friends getting together. Reasonable prices. BYO. Nice interior and atmosphere.
