The Original Papa Nick's - Mars Hill

The restaurant was just okay, but could be much better with a bit more effort. I'm glad they offer vegan pizza, which was decent overall. However, the crust was like plain white bread lacking in salt and seasoning. It had a good airy texture, but could definitely benefit from more flavoring and salt.

Papa Nick's may not always have vegan cheese available, but they are willing to make a delicious pizza with various vegetable toppings without the cheese. The vegan cheese they do offer is locally made. They offer a veggie pizza with five customizable toppings at no extra charge, which is a nice change. As a self-proclaimed pizza snob from NYC, I must admit that I really enjoy Papa Nick's pizza. While it may not be like New York pizza, it is consistently good. Their garlic rolls (similar to garlic knots) are also a hit - they are large, vegan, and tasty. I personally like to sprinkle some salt on them, but they can be a bit oily. We always order a dozen and save the leftovers to enjoy as a snack later on.
