Le Cabanon - Marseille

This small restaurant above the beach of Pointe Rouge is easy to miss, but it is worth a visit. The food was great and the staff was friendly. I had the vegetarian burger who was more like a vegetable omelet in a bungalow, but... it was very tasty and better than the Bland veggie Burger serving most restaurants.

We visited La Cabanon last night of our trip. With a very early start the next day we ate early, especially according to French standards, it seems, but we received a very warm welcome and a large table overlooking the beach. My son had asked a burger a day and said the cheeseburger here is the best he ever had!! It was thick and juicy and incredibly delicious. My husband had the vegetarian burger he enjoyed immensely, and the Steak frits were brilliant, and desert delicious. But the friendly, welcoming staff made this even more pleasant than simple food. Very relaxing and would be perfect at sunset. I would recommend a visit here for everyone.

Delicious gambas and not expensive at all. doesn't look like it but it is indeed a gem of a place. priced reasonably and fresh gambas which was well cooked...big and juicy! also you can enjoy a really good view over the beach just right below.

Oh how we wish we had found this little gem of a restaurant on the sea front earlier in the week. As it was we somehow managed to fit in 6 visits. The food was superb and freshly prepared to order. Ask for the days...special fish dish as this doesn't seem to be on the menu but it is too good to miss- As well as the delicious freshly cooked food we loved the atmosphere of the place From the outrageously funny owner who had a laugh and a joke with everyone in the restaurant and all of the friendly and fantastic staff who dispite the language barrier went above and beyond to accomidate our needs and make us feel welcome. To top it all the Cost of our meal was nearly half the price of the other local restaurants we had already been too. A win win situation. MERCI, MERCI,MERCI,MERCI from the Brits !!!!

Rien que pour le plaisir de papoter avec le patron, j y vais des que je suis à la pointe rouge. Les prix sont + que raisonnables, et les plats sont cuisinés comme à la maison! Rien à changer !!
