While I've encountered overcooked and underseasoned dishes before, I've never had food that tasted like it had been sitting out for a day or a week. The Yankee pot roast I was served had all three issues, and only the first two were tolerable. However, thanks to the decent soup, the excellent house salad dressing, and the fact that the few pieces of meat that were overcooked were not completely stale, Landmark Bistro manages to avoid a score of zero.
I would give The Bistro a 3-star rating because the Wild Rice Crusted Walleye was outstanding! We took my 83-year-old dad there for Father's Day dinner (the night before Father's Day), and he had the Ribeye, which he truly loved—no leftovers at all.
The Sunday brunch was the worst I've ever experienced. The food quality was very low, the selection was quite limited, and the price of $12.95 was outrageous. I won't be returning unless they make significant improvements.
While the Landmark Bistro is known as the finest restaurant in town, the dining experience does not meet expectations. Tonight, I had the worst meal I’ve ever encountered at any restaurant, without exception. I've certainly had meals that were overcooked and others that lacked seasoning, but I had never before encountered food that tasted as if it had been left over from the previous day or even a week. The Yankee Pot Roast I received tonight suffered from all three of these issues, though I could forgive the first two. However, thanks to the acceptable soup, the excellent house salad dressing, and the fact that the few pieces of beef that weren’t gray were just overcooked rather than stale, the Landmark Bistro narrowly avoids receiving a rating of 0.
I would give the bistro a 3-star rating because the wild rice-crusted walleye was excellent! We took my 83-year-old dad there for a Father's Day dinner (the night before Father's Day), and he ordered the ribeye but wasn't very impressed with it.
