Sit where ya like! the owner said to us from a table in the corner. She was seated with a group of friends and family. We squeezed at just about 1:30. It closes at two, but they didn 't seem to mind. Pat, the owner and I got to chat one another up. It was nice to get to know about her family, the restaurant, and everything.Pat makes the pies the old fashioned way, With lard she whispered to us. Trust me, we were not concerned. Her crust is the best anywhere. Her coconut cream pie is incredible. I wish I could 've had room to try all the pies.Everything in the place is made from scratch. Nothing is frozen or boxed. This is food as it was meant to be. Great burger, by the way.Very friendly place, but get there early. We tell people that if they are still here after closing, they will have to clean up. We found this place while on a detour around a horrible wreck on I-70. I 'm glad we did. It was a special experience. You are treated like family here. Loved it! Parking: It 's the country. There is a ton of parking.
This place is a gem. It is a throwback to an earlier and better era. It is family owned and run, and has been for decades. The food is fresh, tasty, and inexpensive. The staff is incredibly friendly and remembers me even though I only visit once or twice a year. They usually have fresh baked goods ??? for sale. ?
Love this place. True down home cooking. Everyone is always so nice too.
Don't use the Pepi's machine with bills took my dollar but kicked out my coins and I only stopped because I was falling asleep
