Paper Road Bistro - Masterton

The lamb dishes were overcooked, and the steaks that were ordered rare came out more like medium-well. Additionally, the open steak sandwich was mostly made up of potato chips, bread, and a meager salad—there was hardly any steak at all. In fact, some of the last meals served didn’t even come with a salad because they had run out of lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. When a guest pointed out that some of the pasta dishes looked different, one of the waitresses casually remarked that they were just pre-packaged. This was a disappointing experience for what was supposed to be a special day. Clearly, this establishment lacks the resources and management skills to effectively accommodate large groups, and I would recommend avoiding it for anything beyond a small gathering. If they can't handle larger parties, it would be better for them to decline the booking rather than provide a subpar experience. I would advise giving this place a miss altogether.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The ambiance is charming, and the food was outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and I believe the Paper Rd Rosé is the finest rosé out there. I will definitely return!
