Mercado Food Drinks - Matosinhos

We chose our fish and it was cooked for us expertly taken from the skin bone free. Served with boiled potatoes. We were so full we had no room for the desserts that looked lovely. Hugo was a fantastic host as were all the restaurant staff.

Mercado de Matinshos was at the top of our list and it did not disappoint. The restaurant staff was very friendly and walked us through the steps of how to order with the seafood vendors and how to pay for it. They personally walked us over and explained the different types of fish and seafood. Ricardo Afonso had great wine recommendations at different price points (and spoke perfect English! excellent service. They got our kids hooked on the barnacles! I’d recommend asking to prepare the fish a little under as it was a touch overcooked for our liking.

You cant find anything fresher!! And very well prepared!! Fantastic service and price more tha reasonable.
