Don Sol Mexican Grill - Mattoon

The food was just average; we've had better meals elsewhere. Unfortunately, their hot sauce has changed and is no longer as good as the previous version, which we really liked. We had family come from far and wide to dine here, but after tonight's meal, it will likely be our last visit. There's nothing that truly sets this place apart from other Mexican restaurants, and I don't see any reason to drive 35 miles to eat here again.

Delicious food! We dined outdoors, and they have a lovely seating area at the front.

I used to visit Don Sol frequently before I moved away from Illinois, and I absolutely loved it, especially the lively energy of the waitstaff. I was really looking forward to celebrating my son's birthday there today, but we felt rushed throughout the meal. In fact, two tables that arrived after us were served before us. Additionally, they hurried through singing "Happy Birthday" for my son. Overall, I was a bit disappointed.

Hamburger was burn in the Nachos..taste was awfull, first and last time there.

We are traveling from AZ and stopped here about an hour before closing. They gave us excellent customer service, our server and all the workers were so kind. Delicious food!! Got the steak chimichanga and chicken enchiladas. Very nice inside and loved the outdoor seating.
