El Rancherito - Mattoon

This is a great Mexican place. I can't believe I waited so long to go here. They not only make the formula Mexicans do almost all Mexican restaurants in the area, they have much more authentic food on their menu. I was super impressed to get real homemade tortillas with my meal.

We had El fajita plate with shrimp and a chicken burrito. Very delicious and fresh. Very nice waitress! The staff was very helpful. Will return.

My parents’ favorite place. We finally got to join them there on a visit. I will need to visit my parents more often, so I can get through this large menu. I had the Enchiladas de Tinga, which are well stuffed with chipotle chicken. My wife and my mother had Camarones al Mojo de Ajo , which has so much garlic on it, that you have a little pile on the side you can add to the salsa if you want. This is not a complaint. It was absolutely delicious, and the shrimp are huge and succulent. Service is also fantastic.

Good food and good prices. Our waiter was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Would recommend!
