Went along Avenue Grassion Cibrand to find a place to eat. Carnon was very quite at the time and most of the restaurants were empty. The waiter at Fleur de Sel stopped us along the street and were very happy and friendly. Promised me to do a special vegetarian salad as there were no such thing on the menu. As the only couple at the restaurant we had great service and the waiter liked to talk a lot. Food was average but wine very good. In all, we had a very pleasant evening.
What a massive let down this place was. We visit Carnon every year and we were extremely disappointed to find that this place had changed hands from Nick to this new owner. Grubby apron, grubby tables and the menu is awful. He 'recommended' Bavette and Chips, so this is what I ordered only to have 3/4 plate of greasy chips and a steak which was fit for scouring out the pans because it was so tough and mainly fat! My husband had a starter of seafood with Avocado and the Avacado was so hard, it would have done serious damage had it been thrown at someone! Ridiculous prices to pay for such awful food.

Ludicrously expensive, scruffy little restaurant in a very unappealing part of town. Can't speak for the food, as the 6 of us left after a bottle of wine, such was the bad feeling - justified by the bad attitude of the owner/chef. Unsurprisingly, only one other table was occupied - although it was about 8.30pm on a Friday evening in high season.
