Food was slow to arrive but we weren't in a rush anyway and we had a nice view of the water to entertain us. We had mushroom soup, beet salad and 3 small plates - baked garlic shrimp, beef meatballs with Italian sauce and pesto linguini. The soup, salad and shrimp were excellent. The meatballs and pasta were good. The Groove is a pleasant surprise for dining on a small island. The price was very reasonable. With a tip and one beer, two ciders the bill came to $68.
Our family enjoyed our three pizzas and burger from The Groove. Very fast take out service - ready in under 15 min on the the Saturday of a long weekend. Some unique pizza combinations and reasonably priced.
Have been staying on the island for the best part of a week and keep returning here which must be a good sign. Whether you just want a drink or are eating it's a very relaxed, welcoming environment and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. There's a great selection of craft beer and the food is terrific, particularly the tapas and the pizzas. Highly recommended.
We got a nice shaded seat on the patio with a view of Active Pass, and were pleasantly intrigued by the menu. My husband had the burger of the day which included maple cheese (I think), and garlic aioli, and he said it was fabulour. And, the roasted potatoes were exceptional. I had a thin crust pizza with bacon and avocado and goat cheese to finish it off. It was awesome! The crust was perfect. Also had a local Mayne Island Brewery blond beer and it too was awesome. Staff was very attentive, and music is available, too. Highly recommended.
Awesome food. Great service. On Thursday, this is the place to be. Too many talented people performing their musical gift.
