El Saladillo - Mazarrón

We have stopped for drinks and tapas and also for evening meals. Been fortunate to have watched the horse flamenco desplays a couple of years ago which were fantastic the horsemanship was beyond compare as was the bravery of the dancing ladies. We also have returned for the evening dance performances of flamenco and Spanish guitar which was awesome. As a result we always check in to see if there is anything planned on their events diary when we are on holiday. The food is all Spanish and extremely tasty with seating outside or in a large aircondition room with full bar and lots of local paintings on sale. Plenty of parking available in front of the restaurant Well worth a visit

This is our prefered tapas bar, good choice of fresh food and the sisters are very friendly, Spanish lessons free!! Nothing too much trouble, sit by the log fire in the winter or on the terrace in the summer, live the dream.

We have not been here for many years. It has clearly suffered a decline in trade since the new motorway has cut it off on a side road and, I suspect, not that many people can be bothered to divert themselves off the main road to get to it. We were travelling past with friends at around the right time for lunch, however, so thought we would give it a try. If there were a rating of Good, that is what I would probably give El Saladillo, but I wouldn't go as far as Very Good. The interior of the restaurant has always felt a bit like a canteen, because of its size, and that has not changed. The gentleman who served us could have been a little happier and friendlier, we thought, but hey, he may have been having a bad day! The food was quite reasonable, but my wife's and my Merluza, although large in size was not particularly tasty. The price was reasonable. Would we go out of our way to get here? Probably not.

Food is simple spanish. What youo now get wherever the Brits have landed which is a shame. I used to travel all over spain eating superbly and the good places are now very few and far between. Where we brits land it always sinks to the worst

This is a Spanish-family run restaurant about a mile from the Camposol urbanisation. It serves typical Murcian cuisine with menu del dia for about €8 and a menu del noche for €12. We have dined here on several occasions over the years. The main problem is that you never know what type of meal you are likely to get. Sometimes it has been really nice whilst on others very mediocre. They certainly need to try and ensure that they have more consistency
