You know its a good deal when its hard to get in. The place was jammed on the last day of October but the ribs were as great as ever. The staff was hustling to get people seated and served and we experienced some delays...in getting the orders in and getting our drinks but the ribs rocked as usual.
Went for their Rib eye ordered in medium rare came blue rare it was tuff and not much flavor place was over crowded and the atmosphere was eat and leave so we can fill the table felt that I was rushed to to eat and...get out would not go to the cerritos location again
Roy's is a gem in Cerritos point. They are famous for their "Rib Night," that happens every Sunday night. They serve a full slab of ribs with two small sides for just short of $6,00USD. This is honestly the best value for a meal I've ever had in my life.I spoke to Roy last Sunday (the son of the late Roy who started the restaurant) and he told me the secret is the "steaming". They steam the ribs for like 5 hours then finish them on a charcoal grill. They are absolutely fall off the bone and truly amazing. They also have a fantastic "shrimp and lobster combination" on the menu all the time. It features twin tails and four shrimp for a ridiculously low price of around $15USD-- again tremendous value for downright delicious food. The only "knock" I would give them is that they have no view but don't hold that against them. If you want a delicious meal, served by very friendly people (Roy really is a charming guy) run, don't walk to Roy's, you will not be disappointed. Muy Bueno.
Roy's is a nice cozy place near the end of Cerritos, open air, hip Mexican decore, with great food at very affordable prices. Beer and drinks, too. Last time I was there, I ordered the shrimp daily special and the waitress recommended that I splurge an extra 20 pesos on the oversized shrimp-good advice!
