Taco Loco - Mazatlán

Delicious food, but I waited once for 20 minutes for them to tell me they didn't have chicken for the chicken tacos which I ordered. Great if you have time and don't really care about a specific food you want

The review from the person who said not to worry about the food being inexpensive made me laugh. The prices here are in line with what I pay at other restaurants in Mazatlán that don't cater to Gringos and expats -- this is a place where Mexicans eat. I'm surprised that it's on Camarón Sábalo, in the heart of the Golden Zone, to be honest, because the food is just so authentically Mexican.My favourite thing to eat here are the tacos al pastor and they are perfect, with delicious seasoned meat, onions, and cilantro, and served with four different types of salsa, each unique and delicious, with differing spice levels (add all four at the same time to eat like a Mexican!). They have a four for $40 special, but I can only eat two, so I think I pay something like $12 or $14 each. Pricier than cart tacos, but still a very inexpensive lunch!Another thing I like about this place is that they don't aggressively try to pull in non-nationals, which tells me that they are an authentic slice of Mexico in a very touristy neighbourhood. The first time I went, they spoke some English to me, but once they saw my level of Spanish, it was Spanish all the way and they've never spoken to me in English since.The service is very attentive. I tend to go at Gringo meal hours, so I'm often the only customer. But the one time I went for what was an early lunch for me, it was busy with Mexicans having a late breakfast and I didn't see a difference in service quality level at all.

Don't be afraid. The food is good, even though it is inexpensive. 40 pesos for 4 tacos al pastor, Hard too beat the price.

Without a doubt some of the best ribs in Mazatlan. Large portion and lots of meat. Great flavor and lots of it. My favorite ribs place in Mazatlan. Lots of outside seating. On a main avenue, good location. Other items we have had the were just OK. Very average in size and taste.
