J chicken and ox tail are to die for! The rice is also delicious and their sauce ?

If you want legit J chicken then this is place to get that fix. I order out here weekly and its always on point. Everything on the menu is whipped up fresh, if you are ever in the mood for something different in mcallen then give Jamaican j stop a shot, I reccomend it?

I love this place. The curry chicken, wings and rice peas are great. Make sure to add a patty!

Really liked the food. I probably would have never tried this place based on its location and my lack of familiarity with Jamaican food. But recently was on a cruise that stopped in Jamaica and thought the food was pretty good. So we have this place a try and I personally really liked it. My wife thought it was spicy, but she thinks anything more than salt and pepper is spicy so don't take her word for it unless you are the same way. I tried the curry chicken and honestly it was delicious. It was a little spicy and the spice did build as I ate, but it wasn't over the top. My wife had the j chicken and I thought it was delicious. The rice and beans were good. Even the steamed vegetables were good. We ordered a side of plantains and they were perfectly caramelized. You can dine in, but mostly people carry out, which is what I will probably do next time. So try something new and give this place a shot.

Shortly after, I received another call from a different number regarding our order. After the poor customer service experience, we decided to cancel it. Unfortunately, we were charged for an order that they claim never went through, and we are now hoping for a refund. Eager to try their food, we then placed an order verbally over the phone and sent someone to pick it up ourselves. However, when they arrived, the staff didn’t have enough change, leaving us shortchanged. While the food itself was decent, many items on the menu were unavailable. Given the overall service we experienced, we won’t be ordering from them again.
