Johnny Rockets - McAllen

This was my first experience at Johnny Rockets, and I absolutely loved it! The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was great.

We were asked about our burgers, and they arrived topped with a special sauce that we didn't enjoy. We weren't informed that they would be served this way. Overall, we didn't find our burgers very satisfying. On a positive note, the ambiance is lovely and the music is fantastic, but it was quite warm in the restaurant. The air conditioning really needs some attention; it's already hot enough outside.

Went to have lunch there because it's one of my son's favorite place to eat. Upon entering the place looks cozy and inviting. The decor is done in vibrant colors of red, white, black. Bad thing is the place felt hot inside. I asked the server and she stated it was because it's a small diner and the grill is located in the front of the house...We decided to order the bacon, cheddar fries as an appetizer, the bacon cheddar burger, and the Original cheeseburger. We were served our beverages and waited on our appetizer. After a while on waiting for the appetizer I decided to ask a worker if he had any idea on our appetizer. He apologized for the mistake and said the manager would be coming around to speak to us, which he never did. Our server really never came around to refill our drinks or check up on how we were doing. And she took the longest time to give us our ticket, even though we asked her three times for it. The only good thing about this experience was the food. Everything was full of flavor.

Where do I start. First time here for me. I Loved the Service and ambiance of the place. The Burgers and Fries were Awesome! Especially the Spicy Houston Double Burger with bacon. It was juicy and delicious. You definitely need to try it. Also tried the sweet potato fries and the bacon and cheese fries both were delicious ?. Want to eat a great burger and have great service. You need to come here. It was Great! We Will definitely come back.

I live just 7 minutes away from this restaurant, so I usually pick up everything myself. The club sandwich was missing cheese, the tomatoes tasted old and overripe, and the bread was soggy without any sauce to hold everything together. The Philly steak was dry and lacked onions and provolone cheese. I can’t be certain if they just omitted the cheese, but none of my items had any. Given that I ordered dishes that traditionally include cheese, I expected at least a courtesy note if they weren’t going to include it. I even paid extra for cheese on my biscuits! Overall, it was a very disappointing first experience with their food. I placed my order at 7:40 PM, and the restaurant closes at 10 PM, so it wasn’t a case of them rushing because they were closing soon. The place is usually empty when I go, and now I understand why. The only positive aspect was their shake, but they forgot to make it for me, and I had to remind them. I hope they were just having a bad day, but personally, I won't be returning. There are plenty of other places that serve great sandwiches and shakes.
