The restaurant has returned to normal operations after temporarily refusing to serve pork for various reasons. The excuses ranged from religion not allowing it, even for those of different faiths. Each individual is free to believe what they want, but they should not enforce their superstitions on others.
During our stay at McLennan Campground from May 1st to August 15th, 2014, we frequented this restaurant often. The food was consistently hot and fresh, with reasonable prices. It was evident that the locals also appreciated the food, as many ordered here regularly. The staff took our orders promptly, and our food was served quickly. They even went above and beyond by adding dishes we liked to the menu. The restaurant was very clean and had a cheerful atmosphere, making it a enjoyable spot for breakfast and dinner.
While visiting a family member in a nursing home, we stopped by this restaurant for a quick bite. The place was a bit run-down and the seating consisted of uncomfortable diner-style chairs. The menu was very typical, with options like burgers, fries, eggs, salads, and deep-fried appetizers that seemed to come straight from the freezer. We played it safe and ordered an omelette, which was just okay but improved with the addition of ketchup. The toast had too much margarine (no butter!) and the hash browns were deep-fried. Overall, not a place we would recommend, but options are limited in small Northern towns like this one. Next time, we might consider bringing a cooler full of food instead.
