Kind of a child. Okay, where else can you sneak around in Oregon on an Elchburger and a hazelnut shaker in the company of an monkey? Nowhere else my friend. That's what we like about Alf. Some crazy place. Oh, and there's the All Day Burger I've never had the appetite for. We saw a couple divided when we were there the other day, by McMinnville. Even half would be too much for me. Our party of three had an Elchburger, a Halibut Burger, sweet potatoes and we all shared a hazelnut shake. The shake is made with real crushed hazelnuts as they grow around these parts. None of these fake hazelnut flavors. If I have a complaint about Alf, it's really a little too grungy. If I were the owner, I would close the place for a week for a thorough cleaning and color work (especially the monkey cage). Maybe you free the clutter on the walls that accumulated over the years. I think it's good for business. The Grunge factor is probably a little extraputting for some who have never been here and expect a higher standard of cleanliness.
Ice was good... Service, eh.. Driving through McMinnville over the weekend we noticed Alf 's and their homemade Ice Cream characters. I have the Hazelnut ice cream and my husband has a hot Fudge sunshade. They were delicious! We'd like to try another burger. There were no tables inside, but many seats outside... and it was covered. Actually, there was a table that was empty except a phone that was charged. The girl behind the counter that took our order was less than friendly. She seemed almost irritated that I didn't tell her we only order ice cream before she picked up her pen. She also answered the phone in the middle of our order and said not at all, excuse me or something. It was a little rude. In any case, I will look at the not so friendly service to try other things on the menu. At least I didn't have to leave a tip.
