The tractor guy was quite late, but we did pick peaches. Once they saw how much we picked in a short time, they couldn't have been nicer...they advertised what we were after, but we probably should have waited a couple more days..As a senior, I resented this place and will find another place next time for fresh, seasonal produce with a friendlier staff.
DON'T order the food! $9 (plus tip) veggie sandwich consisted of the the toppings you put on a burger (store bought slice of tomato, slice of onion, 2 pickles and a leaf of lettuce between 2 slices of white bread). NO mayo, mustard, etc. The gal at the counter pointed to the little condiment packets at the bar if I wanted anything. My friend ordered a $7 grilled cheese. BOTH were the saddest sandwiches we could have imagined. We should have taken a photo! We are not picky eaters. We were both stunned at the lack of quality and the price attached. They should be ashamed... Stick to the ice cream and pie.
My kids love the kids area with the bellowing sheep, slide, pallet maze, pea pit, and Human Hamster Wheel! They have food and ice cream, additional food vendors on the weekend. We all loved the tractor ride through the orchard to do some apple picking. We were taken to the apple section of our choice and encouraged to sample while picking. Nothing compares to an apple fresh off the tree, crisp and juicy! Prices were very reasonable too! The only warning I would give is WATCH and STAY with your kids in the kids area, there are fences easy for little ones to climb. And the slide is on a tower that I saw a toddler ? climb up on the fence at the top and attempted to climb on top of the enclosed slide (a stranger got him down before he fell, his mom was sitting on a bench looking at her phone). On this visit I had to pluck a toddler from the sheep enclosure as he had climbed through ahead of his family while going in the maze. Have fun and be safe!
Awesome!! We go to Walter's every year for pumpkins and fall fun! My kids will spend hours in their toy area and all the other activities really add up to an all day family fun experience! My only gripe is the bathroom situation.... They have a nice (for what it is) porta potty setup, but it's far away from the kid area and the pumpkin area so when busy little bodies realize they need to go there isn't much time to traverse the property. Every year is different but every year is fantastic!
Always love Walter's! Went with my 32 year young son and we've been visiting Walter's since he was 8! Best pies, great selection of farm grown fruit and veges, family activities, best farm made cider and lots of fun gifts. My favorite place on Greenbluff!
