La Tienda De La 70 - Medellín

Is a typical colombian fonda the food was good, nothing spectacular, but what really bothered me was the service. It was just terrible, an evident lack of communication between the staff, I had to ask 3 times for a beer. The waitress was super messy,...and over confident with me and my family. There was a few waiters that were super drunk, and were just bothering everybody. I think that was the last time that I go there, it 's such a shame that a typical paisa place, doesn 't represent any of the kindness of these beautiful people. Not going back there.

Had a great time here trying to dance Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia...and more. It is a little cramped, but other than that it is a solid night out.

And it looked good. However, the last reviews were somewhat above the place. I had a good meal and would recommend. The waitress was fantastic and did good work. I had the cherry and it was good. A little hard... but was cooked properly. Salad was good and portions were nice. Steak had a good taste. Prices were above average for Colombia, but well below average for the USA. I would recommend it.

I have read a few previous reviews that complain about the service. I can't speak for La Tienda before 2020, but my last trips were great. The food is traditional Colombian and is good for this style. It is important that the kitchen can be the temperature of food here, which can be anywhere, even in the USA. The Colombian service is...although it is exactly what it is, but here the service for me was nothing but Spot-on and is certainly far above most local restaurants. Poblado restaurants are their own western deal, but most local places simply do not offer what someone outside Colombia would consider to be attentive. But someone in La Tienda has found that a good service makes people happy, so the employees have trained accordingly. Pro Tip: Ask for a waiter named Brian if you want to speak English. Nice guy from New York!

If you want to visit Medellin, make sure to stop at this restaurant when you have the time to breakfast, lunch or dinner. The servers are wonderful and the food great and you will enjoy and you can also enjoy some cool pictures.
