Contribuisci feedbackThe owners of Tramezzini recently opened another restaurant with the same name here in Medellin. This is located in the Transversal Superior with Los belly in a mall called The Complex Mall. My wife and I visited this new place and loved him. Excellent pasta with delicious, very Italian taste. Excellent Arrabiata Sauce, Delicious al dente pasta. The place is very nicely furnished, comfortable. Great service, the owner came to our table to check everything was fine (I think that can make a difference). Fair prices.
Do not let the location trick you, it does not look like a real restaurant is between a supermarket and a hotel, is not showing but they make their own pasta (that could take more time) but it is worth it. It is delicious, creamy, tasty and juicy.
I wasn't in Medellin in seven years, used to eat here all the time. They have moved from Parque Lleras to a shopping mall in the last 7 years. The food was still very good, tomato soup EXCELLENT, as it was before, and the desserts remain the same, I am glad that the quality is still the same. Come back to Medellin.
I was not really sure what I wanted to eat, so I went for the gnocchi; couldn 't decide which sauce I wanted on it so I asked if they 'd do it mezzo a mezzo (50/50) between bolognese and four cheese; they said they 'd do. And, guys, did they do! The touch that most impressed me was that my plate came with the food split in half, no mixing of the sauces (as I thought would happen). This made my meals (yes, I went back twice more) a lot more enjoyable as I could actually eat and pay 2 for 1. Excellent food, great and personal service, five stars I erased one star because of their wine selection that 's not really varied. Worth a visit. And it 's also INSIDE the Oviedo shopping mall...
I suspect in Medellin with a low demand for authentic Italian food and the cost involved with importing real ingredients and such there is not a great deal of room for high hopes. Remember that when I report that Suprisingly the food was good . We only sampled the Chicken Parm and the Roboalo with Red sauce, both smothered in a homemeade sauce that was quite good actually. The breadcrumbs used on the chicken were laced with good old italian seasonings. Nice flavor. The ambiance of the 2nd floor with a huge live tree trunk jutting up through the middle, Italian music and lots of wood all around cancels the fact that this establishment is somewhat in a shopping mall, although off the beaten path. But the bread is the standar italian pizzaria bread, nothing homemade, a few wines by the glass, not sure about the rest of the bar, looked like liquor available, some good looking deserts passed by. No espresso. A tad bit pricey for what you get but remember this is South America. Service was awesome although reatuarant was noly at 20% capacity, the mozz cheese on my parm was rubbery, again tough to get good ingredients. The side of Penne Alfredo that came with the meal was overcooked but I was expecting al dente, the parm cheese was the stuff from the bag. The use of garlic is a whisper but regional dishes abroad are always flavored for the home crowd. Just like Chinese food in the US Off the boat Chinese would never eat General Chos chicken. I need to make a few trips back and sample more. So far I rate the food as average in my experience and for Medellin it would be slightly higher. Despite some complaints in this review and considering the location I was overall very pleased.
