There is also a super fun butterfly garden for just a few dollars! It was so cool. In any case one of the highlights of the visit (so it is worth it)! I could have spent more than one day here because there are many beautiful plant species. There is also a restaurant here that seems to be highly regarded. I wish I could have left, but we were in a cripple in time.
It's a really nice park to take a walk. There is no entrance fee therefore Gret to spend the day there. It is not a botanical garden, because there are not many different flowers, but different types of plants and trees and beautiful animals such as iguanas and ducks. The maps are not so clear and it is a bit difficult to orient.
Great place if you love nature. You are restaurants scattered throughout the park so you have options to choose from (although pricy options). The entrance was free, so it's always nice. This is a great place to take a date or just walk around to clarify your mind.
A great place to visit Medellín during a beautiful day. The botanical garden is super easy to get to the subway, just descend on the Universidad subway and cross the road. It is free to enter and enjoy all, but you need to show an ID and answer a few simple questions (age, nationality, etc) for their research purposes. There are some relaxing walking trails to see plants, have a piece of cake and relax, etc. We like to visit here a casual, relaxing walk. There is a butterfly exhibition inside you will have to enter a nominal fee. You have a snack bar with drinks, snacks and related products. You will find ice cream providers, people sell bags of food to feed the birds, and more. We always keep at the entrance for a delicious double-bone ice cream. A must. There is a small shopping mall over the street that has places for lunch. You can definitely bring kids, and it's flat. If you have mobility problems, this is quite easy to navigate. There are also free bathrooms inside.
Getting in was very easy and simple, just had to wait in line for under 10 minutes (I came on a Sunday around 1pm). This park was so beautiful and it really added to the quality of my vacation. It was peaceful and filled with nature and beautiful architecture. I loved it and would really recommend!
