Please check your sandwiches before you leave. I have been going since they opened. Although I love the bread and sandwiches however this is second time I got a sandwich that was burnt. This time I called back..I didn't have enough time to run back. No offer to comp my next sandwich. I ate half bc I was starving but threw the other half in garbage. Although my phone camera is broke, I added a picture to this review. I still recommend this place but please check your sandwiches when ordering to go. This only happened twice both times was on a takeout order. Sorry it's a bit blurry.By far best bread I ever had!!
We discovered this sandwich shop accidentally today when we went there looking for bread. Well they were out of fresh baked bread loaves, but we ordered vegan smash burgers and we were blown away at how delicious they were. The burger was uncommonly small, flat and well cooked. It was served on freshly made, toasted sourdough bread on which an eggplant purée was spread, plus micro greens, tomatoes, and their fresh cucumber pickles. Hands down the best vegan burger I have had anywhere. Usually vegan burgers are all about a giant burger, usually mushy and undercooked if made in house, with regular burger condiments. This instead was all about a delicious sandwich with all ingredients made in house and deliciously complementing one another. We were told the menu changes once a month and not sure we want to see this sandwich disappear, yet will be eager to have it again before it disappears and see what replaces it. We noticed they also offered avocado toast and no doubt it is delicious. There were several omnivore options and guessing they were delicious too, and probably also served on their amazing homemade bread. The only thing that we are confused about is it's name, because our receipt stated Highland Park Sandwich Shop. Not sure how they are related but seem to be co-located and you can buy bread (if you go early on the right days) or sandwiches there. Limited inside seating and several outside tables are available.
Visited for lunch and tried one of their sourdough bread sandwiches and it was simply delicious . Bread here is made fresh wit simple ingredients and always tastes fresh! I only wish they opened on weekends.
This is hands down the BEST bread you will ever eat. I get multiple loaves weekly because it is truly the only bread I eat anymore. I LOVE that Paula uses simple and organic ingredients and her bakery items are made with so much hard work and love! I can’t recommend this place enough. Pre order the sourdough on the website because she sells out quick!!
