Fat Staks - Melbourne

I was meeting friends who live in Bundoora and of a few nearby vegan-option restaurant options I sent them, they chose this one. I had a lovely time, but I should’ve listened to @yoeyvegan. I ordered the Pretender burger $17), which I was told was a vegan version of the Big Mac. Despite ordering before my omnivorous friends my burger arrived after theirs and it was all downhill from there. First, it was one of those oversized monsters you can’t even fit into your gob. Second, the burger bun disintegrated in my hands, leaving a sloppy mess. Third, the burger patties were flavourless and rubbery. The best part was the beer I’d ordered with it. The bowls may be better then the burgers, but my food experience here was terrible.

Vegan burger and loaded french they will have satisfied and their taste bud more. I'll get my burger regularly. friendly crew and hopefully come more vegan options.

Incredibly further meatburger with traditional toppings and vegan cheese. very delicious. *Edit 22/07/18* new vegan burgers in the menu. plant based patty with kartoffel, bud and mais. Currently served as “The Pretender” because it resembles a big mac. the patty however deserves to be a burger in his own right imo. they would be better off the substituting Pretender-Patty with beyond burger if they really wanted that faux big mac experience. Either way, everything is individual and now they have two patties to work.

Vegan chips (never guess) are really good, but unfortunately the vegan burger 'don't mock me' does not have the biggest mock beef pact. Hopefully they will change their patten soon with impossible meat?

We had the dagnabbit fries and the fat pizza fries. the dagnabbit was a tade on the salty side, as the whole engraved looked down, and the huh was slightly dry. but the fat pizza fries were really delicious with the bolognese sauce! <br/ <br/ we shared the bobbas bro pulled pork hot dog that was extremely filled! it was loaded with pulled pork, although the pork was a bit dry again. the woofer rings were really nice and crispy! <br/ <br/ all here is extra large so if they are not a big edible, I would definitely recommend sharing.
