I go to the bar in melbs when I go out of sydney. briney bay is my fave cocktail in out.
Recommended by a native in melbourne to give this place an attempt and I am glad that she did it! this little gem offers an amazing menu. recommended traveling to melbourne to make this place a priority.
Let the spray varnished sign from the front they deceive. it is now a wonderful weeping. I have to say I've embarrassed myself. they said if they could return the table at 8:30 a.m., we could have a place. I heard they had no table until 8:30 o'clock! we went out and when I was informed about my hearing problem, we came back immediately. the highlight is, of course, the wine list. the best is the “Surprise me” wee in the glass. it's actually just one way for them to give them something to eat with them and try something else. I didn't get the impression that they tried to get rid of the bin end. in addition, the wine list is expensive, but extensive. the waitress was pleasant and a joy to chat. the low light is literally the low light. there is not much light inside! eating, they have a few dishes that I appreciate red. we had the buratta. highly recommended. it was presented very beautifully. the other dishes we had were sunchokes (aka artichokes,) green salate and the short nativity. my only complicity is that while everything tasted fantastic, there was not a whole amount of meat on the short nativity. it was about 4 pieces of meat, and then two other pieces of mostly fat. such a good small part of the city. not cheap and not a daily diner, but a good place for a nice dinner without OTT.
Great night with amazing food wine the set menu was perfect and the snapper steak within that were the highlights. Dark horse was the cabbage dish which was beautiful Be aware, the reason for the 3 stars was the awkward cheeky way they take payment tip. Their eftpos machine makes it hard to not choose a tip option the staff watches over your shoulder as you pay. Also charged us for sparkling water even though we didn’t ask for it. Probably would’ve tipped anyway but the way they go about it leaves a bad taste in your mouth…
