Café Notturno - Melbourne

This is a fantastic spot to meet up with friends or colleagues. The coffee is always excellent and the ambiance of Lygon Street is unbeatable.

I had breakfast at this restaurant early in the morning. The food and coffee were very good, and the service was friendly and efficient. The prices were moderate but offered good value. I sat at an inside table, which was comfortable. However, my experience was slightly spoiled by the cigarette smoke coming from their outdoor seating area on Lygon Street, where three smokers were also enjoying breakfast. It seemed that both staff and customers were ignoring the no smoking signs. Isn't smoking in outdoor dining areas now illegal in Melbourne?

Coffees and cakes are nice. I find them on the expensive side. Never eat there but I near the food is pretty average. Friendly barista

Ordered the seafood combo. Was expecting fresh seafood only for it to be out of the packet frozen crumbed seafood (I can get better frozen seafood from Woolworths). The salad had no dressing and my cucumber was old, when I asked the waitress for new...cucumber she made a big deal about it and gave me attitude about it. The waitress was all nice reeling us into the restaurant but simply asking for fresh cucumber was a big deal. Although good food is the main thing about a restaurant having rude staff is such a turn off.I would never visit here again nor recommend it.

This restaurant on Lygon Street in Carlton has been a great place to eat for over 20 years. The food is delicious and there is a wide variety to choose from on the menu. They have a great selection of desserts, including cakes and pancakes. Whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a quiet coffee, this place is perfect. Next time you're in the area, give it a try.
