The food was the freshest & best Chinese (or Cantonese) I've had in a very long time. Service was amazing, nice atmosphere & reasonable pricing. Will certainly be going back on my next visit to Melbourne.
We chose the venue as a last resort because we had to eat before going to the theatre but it was not disappointing. The menu was rather extensive. My 6 year old ordered the spring rolls, crispy dumplings and san Choi bau and then a deep fried flaming ice cream. He ate it all and could barely move and absolutely loved it! I ordered the San choi bau, the steamed dumplings and the chili salt n pepper calamari. The food for me was nothing exceptional. The dumplings were as you would get anywhere. I did not enjoy the calamari. Barely any chili but a punt load of salt. I did not enjoy this. My mum got the beef n black bean and said it was the best she'd ever had. Thank you for a pleasant evening.
We were looking for somewhere to have a late meal after being to a show at the Athenian. Places where starting to close but we were lucky enough to get into Chine (the kitchen was closing in 10 mins). A huge menu and lots of choices, and more and more people coming in.We ordered pan fried dumplings (very nice), spring rolls and calamari, and then shared a plate of sweet and sour pork (not normally something I would have). The pork was great as were the entrées. The service was quick and staff polite; the cook was busy keeping up with orders, and no one waited very long for their food. The food was so good, we had lunch there a couple of days later, with some friends. Worth the visit and will go again the next time we are in Melbourne.
Very good Chinese Food with a decent variety on the menu. Had dinner on a Sunday night and the staff very attentive & the food was delivered within a reasonable timeframe. Happy to come back for a 'slap up Chinese meal'.
We came early without a booking and were able to get a table for 2. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated and the staff were polite. Our entrees and drinks were good and served in good time but they obviously forgot to bring our main course. We waited and waited without any staff asking if we wanted anything. When we asked we were told our meal was in the wok now. Just as we were thinking of leaving, the food arrived - and was delicious. They apologised, but I think they could have been a bit more proactive. We would probably return though.
