And wrapped with the perfect pastry...very buttery and perfect texture! Worth a try!!!Definitely recommend!!!And the staff is super friendly and nice. This place made my day.<br/
Came here cos people were raving about their fantastic Malaysian styled snacks. Their curry pies are really fragrant with a crispy pastry shell and the curry chicken are really aromatic. Their Malaysian Siew Baos are the best in Melb ! The cafe owner is a friendly charitable bloke who gave away free meals to needy students. Happy to support a local Cafe especially when the food is good and the owner is a decent charitable bloke !
Common Ground Coffee cafe in West Melbourne is a favorite spot among locals and is gaining popularity through word of mouth. Under new management for the past seven months, this cafe serves a combination of Western and Asian cuisine. The must-try items on the menu include the baked Char Siew Bao, a delicious pork-filled bun with a sweet flavor, and the Curry Pie, a flaky pastry filled with curry chicken and potatoes. The Nonya Mee Rebus noodles are also highly recommended for their unique twist on a popular dish from Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Another new addition to the menu is the Hainanese Chicken Chop, served with a savory sauce only on Fridays and weekends. The owners, a husband and wife duo, bring their expertise in the food industry to create a delightful dining experience for their customers. The wife, who is a skilled pastry chef, prepares all the pastries and delicacies in the Common Ground kitchen, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for all patrons.
This restaurant offers great value, friendly service, and delicious food. Although the food took a bit longer to arrive, it was definitely worth the wait.
We enjoyed the beef pie, chicken curry puff, and BBQ siew bao at Common Ground. Our favorite was the chicken curry puff, but the other two were also delicious. We loved the crust on all of them. Common Ground will definitely be our go-to spot whenever we're craving pastries. Great job!
