Dave’s Chinese - Melbourne

The photos may not be great, but the food is amazing at this restaurant. I personally love Chinese food, especially the Aussie/UK style over the more exotic dishes. I appreciate that they use breast fillets in their chicken dishes, instead of just batter. The honey chicken and sweet and sour chicken were the best I've had, with sauces that were not overly colored or artificial. The chicken fried rice was delicious and packed with vegetables and chicken. The spring rolls were filled with chicken and incredibly tasty. Despite living in South Yarra, we were pleasantly surprised that delivery only took 9 minutes. Dave, you have truly created the best Chinese food I have ever had.

My experience ordering Dave's Chinese dumplings from Uber Eats was satisfying. The price was reasonable for the size and quantity of dumplings. I have rated it 3.5 out of 5 stars as I have only tried the dumplings so far. I will provide an updated review after trying a main dish.

The Chinese cuisine at this UK-style restaurant is quite distinct from the Australian style, with a greater emphasis on deep-fried dishes. Despite this, the food is quite tasty. My personal favorite is the Combination Chow Mein. However, my only complaint is the lack of vegetables in the dishes.
