Came to South Melbourne Market today and saw this little cafe was offering free coffee. We had a flat white and a mocha. Quite decent coffee for something that was free. We like free stuff
I can’t believe we kept holding off to try this place out and we finally did and we’re glad that we did! We ordered the Thia Voula gyro, each ingredient was perfectly portioned. Fresh and flavourful! No oil running down your hands. Great value for money the gyros. We then ordered the Yiayia’s big dish. Very tasty, chips were hot and crunchy. Tzatziki was fresh. No crappy tomatoes parts here. I love onion but way too many onions and chips, not enough meat for a price like that. We ordered the mixed meat with chicken and lamb. We enjoyed the chicken more than the lamb. Lamb was much juicer but more obvious fatty parts. Staff were inviting and attentive. I’m shocked to see that they only have a small area for dining in and that there is no loukoumades! However, definitely returning. Take your lover, friends and family here for delicious Greek cuisines. Jim Michael Siamsiaras
My Greek friend says it's not totally authentic, but it tastes really good. The Greek salad on the plate had too much cucumber, but everything else was delicious. The housemade Tzatziki was amazing! I usually hate cucumber, but couldn't even smell it in the sauce. Even cucumber haters will love it, unless they're allergic to garlic. The portions were large and the prices reasonable for Greek food. It's hard to find good Greek food in Melbourne, but I will definitely be returning to try the souvlaki. #greekfood #tzatziki #southmelbourne #greek #souvlaki
During my initial visit, this restaurant made a positive impression on me and I was eager to return. I ordered the lamb gyros and found it to be flavorful and tender, though slightly on the salty side. Despite this, I still enjoyed it. However, during my second visit, the meat was overcooked and tough, not quite as delicious as my first experience. I believe the same cook prepared my meal, but the difference in time of day may have affected the quality. If you're interested in trying this place, I suggest visiting earlier in the day for a better experience.
