I have only tried the takeaway option, but the fish and chips were tasty and reasonably priced! It's a great choice for a casual Friday night meal to go. I ordered the flake, chips, and potato cakes, all delicious and cooked perfectly. It may not be fancy, but it's just right for a takeaway meal.
When it comes to fish and chips, I believe there are two categories: upscale options like Tank and Peter's Fish Market, known for their fresh market fish, and more casual spots like Hip Fish, perfect for a quick and affordable meal. My child and I were able to enjoy a filling meal for under $20 at Hip Fish, with plenty of leftovers. We opted for one of their meal packs, which included calamari rings, pieces of fish, potato cakes, and a generous serving of chips. It was so much food that it could easily have fed a family of four, making it a great value at around $5 per person. While the fish in the meal pack may not be a specific species, it was mild in flavor, which I actually appreciated at that price point. This is not the place for gourmet fish options, but rather a spot for a satisfying and budget-friendly meal.
Always well cooked and enjoyable fish and chips. Good prices and a wide menu with decent pack options too. Friendly staff. It's been our regular since moving to the area!
Best local Fish and Chips going around!! We love everything about this place. The food is great, the owners are super nice and friendly, great chicken salt ratio and calamari is to die for!!!! Thanks Hip Fish.
