Even our children were welcomed with special attention, like providing my son with a special cup with a straw and ice, which made his day! One of the first things we noticed was the open view kitchen with bar seating in the front - it was quite a sight! The venue itself had a fantastic decor that was very inviting. Although I am not a vegan, I appreciate having a variety of vegan options on the menu due to dairy intolerance. The kitchen was very accommodating to dietary needs and could make most dishes vegetarian or vegan. This made ordering tapas to share very easy for us. We opted for the Fiesta Feast to sample the menu, and we were not disappointed. We tried a variety of dishes, including the taco of the day (lamb), guacamole with corn chips, empanadas (pumpkin and ricotta), fajita chicken skewers, nacho cheese rice balls, and chunky chips with salsa. From the main menu, we ordered wagyu meatballs with salted ricotta and southern fried chicken nibblers with spiked crema. Some dishes were altered to be dairy-free for my daughter, and vegan cheese was also available. My husband and son even got a chance to watch the kitchen action and learn how to make empanadas with Kim. It was a unique and delightful experience that my son loved. The food arrived promptly and was beautifully presented, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The kids especially enjoyed sampling a bit of everything, and I was pleased with the kid's menu offering roast chicken with chips or salad. The service was attentive and friendly, and the staff made an effort to cater to our needs, especially with young children. We enjoyed our meal so much that we kept ordering more and didn't have room for dessert. We will definitely be back to try more dishes and maybe even enjoy some cocktails next time.
The stunning decor and elegant presentation leave you speechless, along with the welcoming staff and delicious food that is truly outstanding!
If you don't like nachos, I'm not your type! <br/ What do you call cheese that isn't yours?
Even before visiting this café the beautiful outdoor dining area caught my eye while passing by. From the plants to the various seating arrangements and beautifully lit fire heaters, it's the ideal spot to cosy up under the blankets on hand. They also offer the perfect Dog Snack menu for the pooch in your life!<br/ <br/ For Brunch I ordered the Baja Benedict, which is Free-Range (huge plus! Eggs on a House-Made Hash Brown w/Jerk Pulled Pork, Hollandaise and Charred Pineapple Jalepeno Salsa. The hash brown was beautifully crunchy on the outside and soft and moist inside. The pork was flavoursome, cooked perfectly, and was complimented very well by the salsa. The salsa was a fantastically innovative twist on a traditional Eggs Benedict, which added a sweetness that was balanced well by the hollandaise.<br/ I also tried the Lady Okonomiyaki Crispy Vegetable Pancake w/Wasabi Emulsion, Sticky Guava Sauce, Slaw, Furikake, a Poached Fried Free Range Egg. This was a colourful tasty dish, with fresh crunchy vegetables. I particularly enjoyed the addition of pickled ginger.<br/ <br/ To finish off I had the Spelt Granola Cup w/Vanilla Coconut Yogurt, Seasonal Fruit, and House Made Granola with Yuzu Blueberries. The granola was crunchy and toasted, the fruit was fresh and the texture of the yogurt worked beautifully with the whole dish. I loved the presentation of this dish too.<br/ <br/ Lady Green is run by the welcoming, friendly and passionate Kris and Kim who are happy to talk through the menu and make recommendations. Their Californian Mexican restaurant features a beautiful display of pastries and takeaway snacks, a full bar, and offers dinner options on weekends. I was particularly drawn to the display of inspiring cookbooks on offer, which I perused during my meal.<br/ <br/ I really enjoyed speaking to Kris and Kim about their exciting new venture and wish them all the best with their amazing business. Such a fabulous addition to the Beachside Brighton Area.<br/
It 's not often that I 'm blown away by a restaurant (especially a cafe) but that was the case at Ladygreen. I loved many things about it, but I think what was the most refreshing was the fact that nearly nothing on the menu was stock standard 'Melbourne cafe fare '. Every single item on offer at was fresh in both concept and ingredients, taking inspiration from California and Mexico with hints of Japanese influence. Pretty much everything on the menu can be made vegetarian and many items are vegan (or can be) as well. But even the meat is ethically sourced and not overly emphasised, but rather used to complement seasonal produce.<br/ <br/ I had an amazing hot soy flat white made with Allpress beans and Happy Happy Soy Boy milk (apparently it can withstand higher temperatures than Bonsoy). I also tried the choc banana smoothie which was filling but not too heavy, and full of sweet spice. Mains were three dishes to share between my partner and I the egg white, tomato, chimichurri and salted ricotta omelette, the LA hipster (pepita crusted tempeh, pumpkin mash, chimichurri and shredded beetroot) and the unique okonomiyaki tacos.<br/ <br/ The tacos were an incredible flavour and texture profile of creamy wasabi emulsion, guava sauce, crispy tempura veg and pickled ginger. They reminded me a bit of a veggie take on a fried fish taco. I also really loved the tempeh, which was in a fine pumpkin seed crumb and worked so nicely with the sweet pumpkin and sour beetroot. I haven 't found any other dishes like this one in Melbourne. The omelette was more familiar but also delicious, especially when eaten with bites of haloumi on the side.<br/ <br/ But the food isn 't the only reason to visit this spot. The bright space is beautiful, decorated with eclectic artwork and fit out with large windows and foliage and featuring cute cakes displayed on even cuter terrarium style platters. They are also open for tacos and tapas and cheap drinks on Fridays and Saturdays. Whether local or not, vego or not, this is a spot to watch.
