We ate there late on Friday evening. We didn't get there until about 9:30pm, so some of the menu choices were not available. However, what we did eat was delicious and the portions were generous. The portions were so generous that two of us couldn't finish, even though we had started out feeling very hungry! The Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng, and Uncle's Chicken Rice were just what we'd needed after a challenging evening. The cost of each meal was great and we could have come away having spent only about $40 for three main meals and three drinks. However, we elected to have lemon and honey and lemon and tamarind drinks, which were delicious and refreshing but more expensive than the canned soft drinks. The service was courteous and helpful. The drinks and meals were freshly made but came quickly. The restaurant is plain, with minimal decor, but the great service and great food are well worth a visit.
After having a terrible natzi experience at the stupid Red Peppers, we were walking down Bourke street and saw this place.Staff were winding up the day and spotted us with a great smile and asked if we're looking for anything in particular.I asked if the kitchen was still open, she said yes they will be able to do some items. In the meantime the owner came out and offered us a seat and specially organised a Banana Leaf platter for us which was great tasting and value for money. Also ordered a fried rice. All up $26 with lots of friendly attitude from staff and a great family environment.5 ⭐️
Delicious food. Authentic tastes and beautiful presentation. Great value with a nice quiet atmosphere. I will be back again for sure.
I had the maggi goreng from this place and it reminded me of home! They also serve banana leaf (rice and curry) for lunch which is a must try! For all the Malaysians, I'm sure we want to feel like we're home once in a while. PS: Service was amazing - very friendly and helpful people
