Pellegrinis Espresso Bar - Melbourne

Loved nipping in out of the winter cold to grab a couple of hot chocolates. We sat at the long bar and enjoyed all the memorabilia on display. Genuine article. A must visit to any visitor to Melbourne.

Pelligrini's in Bourke St is a Melbourne institution. Simple menu - home-style pasta, granite to refresh on a hot summer day, perfect coffee and delicious home style Italian cakes cut by the slice. The cheesecake is a good example - barely sweet, flavoured with citrus rind. Eat this with a shot of espresso perched on a bar stool, close your eyes and be transported to Rome in the 1950's. Unique

If you want to feel like you're in Italy come here. This place is authentic as it comes and such a Melbourne Institution. You will be greeted by an Italian in Italian, and you will be expected to respond. It's a good place to sit for a good feed of pasta followed up by a made by the day Dessert and coffee. No frills and fabulous.

Lovely home style cooking in a cosy atmosphere. We will definitely be back. We had the seafood marinara and lasagna and thought that both these dishes was great :)

Needed a cup of coffee and a snack before we went to an afternoon show at Princess Theatre.
