Ras Dashen - Melbourne

I had such a wonderful evening at this restaurant! After hearing so many great reviews, I couldn't wait to dine here. My expectations were definitely exceeded. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic, with lovely lighting and the scent of incense in the air. The beer garden also looked charming, although I didn't dine there. The service was incredibly friendly, and we felt welcomed throughout our entire meal. The food was incredibly delicious, fresh, and hot. The flavors were exceptional, and the vegetables in the dishes were perfectly seasoned and fresh. We also tried the honey wine, which had a delicious fermented taste. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future!

I originally planned to dine at a different restaurant, but it was closed. I decided to walk a little further and stumbled upon this place. I have no regrets about my decision. I had never experienced Ethiopian cuisine before, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. The lamb was cooked to perfection with amazing flavors. I particularly enjoyed its crunchy and charred texture. The sour bread, known as injera, was a delightful new discovery for me. Despite having tried various types of bread and rotis in the past, this was my first encounter with injera. I am excited to return and sample other items on the menu. The dish pictured is the Special clay tibs, which consisted of lamb ribs and veggies cooked in a clay pot.

It felt like going to your relatives place and being served food made with heart and warmt rather just being a customer. Loved the service, the food, coffee was amazing and most of all the people!!

This is the best Ethiopian cuisine in the West, possibly the state! Mundi and his wife are absolute champs dishing out the most flavoursome plates. Amazing beer garden. Lively atmosphere. Vegan/ Vegetarian friendly :

What a great atmosphere and delicious food! So happy to have found this great place in Footscray. Just the thing for a cold winter night. Yummy food probably the best Ethiopian I’ve had in Melbs and also a nice, cosy and chilled out vibe. Can I live here please?
