First visit so decided for the set Shinbashi selection, which worked on just over...$60 per head for a barely fair amount of food. Good selection of drinks, very spaced seating and efficient, passed on rushed, service. Has attacked us that all you can eat option offered Mon-Wed will be significantly better value.
I went with a group of friends to an all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ on Monday or Wednesday. It costs $60 per person, and I would definitely recommend it if you're really hungry.
Shinbashi Melbourne is located on the main Lygon Street in Carlton, making it easily accessible by tram from Swanston St. The restaurant offers a wide variety of proteins including wagyu, seafood, chicken, and pork prepared in a Japanese BBQ style. The seating is semi-tatami style with charcoal pits for a traditional Japanese ambiance. During our visit, we tried a selection of meats including the Premium Ox Tongue, Wagyu Harami, MB6 Wagyu Sirloin, and Ocean Prawns Jumbo with vegetables. The Wagyu Deluxe Trio 360gr, which includes Wagyu Oyster Blade, Wagyu Short Ribs, and Wagyu Marbled Beef, is recommended for larger groups. The meats were cooked to perfection with guidance provided on grilling times. The homemade miso dipping sauce was a delicious accompaniment. In addition to the BBQ, we also enjoyed the Nabeyaki Udon and shrimp tempura. Shinbashi offers a 90-minute BBQ buffet on Mon-Wed evenings for $60pp, as well as a la carte options daily. The service was excellent and the overall dining experience was enjoyable. Service: 4.0 Taste: 4.0
We walked in without a booking on a Friday night. Luckily for us they found a spot, and provided fast service and some food suggestions. Food came promptly and you can cook your own which is great, especially if some of the party likes their...meat more well cooked than others. Good if you want to try a variety of grilled meats, seafood and vegetables or to just share between a few. Try a side sish or two if you want. If you are sitting at the deep tables you need to take your shoes off. But overall it was a good experience.
Celebrating a birthday we selected this Yakiniku place and we were not disappointed. The food was great and service good. They catered for the gluten intolerant and all was smooth. Recommend for a good evening out.
