Shou Sumiyaki - Melbourne

We did bday celebration here, it was nice ambience. They catered for large numbers too. The have set option to make it easier to decide. The beef is one of the best quality and the size slice is pretty decent for wagyu. The only downside for us is the place little bit small. Other than that great restaurant.

Ordered food from them in uber and some bottled drinks. Drinks were already expired for at least 2 months. Would not recommend a restaurant that sells any expired products.

The place was filled with smoke and it affected my lungs and eyes. How did they even get the license to run this place? If you feel like paying top dollars to dine in Calcutta then you are in the right place! The beef and chicken thigh yakitori were rubbery. The kimchi soup was thin and the seafood was all micro baby sized tiny tiny little baby prawns, muscles, claims and octopus. I even found clam shells in the soup. Obviously there are no chefs in this restaurant. The crab spring roll that was flat like a pancake certainly wasn't worth $12.90 a piece. I don't understand why this place is still attracting customers. Go spend your money elsewhere as there are much better Japanese restaurants that are run by Japanese in Melbourne. The staff don't have the polite Japanese manners as they are not Japanese. They put on and take off their shoes using the same hands they serve with. We wasted out money and time for sure, and now I am wasting more time on this restaurant by writing this review.

Messaged the booking person prior to attending and asked for menu options. Person lied and when attending forced to order overpriced seafood when allergic to seafood. Never coming again due to lack of care or help. Do not recommend!
