Sushi Burger - Melbourne

There are a number of expensive, popular places to eat in Melbourne, but having tried many of them, I can honestly say that nothing beats this restaurant. For $6, or $10 if you get a combo (soup and salad), you get unbeatable value. I would eat here every night if I could.

We were initially planning to go to grand trailer park tavern but the wait was over 1hr, so, we settled for Japanese burgers instead! We both had the soft shell crab sushi burger with pork gyoza & sashimi combo. Everything is very tasty although the sashimi is not the freshest I've had. They also charge for wasabi even though I asked if the sashimi comes with wasabi. The waiter said I have to pay 50 cents for it. I proceeded with the order to later find out that the sashimi does come with complimentary blob of wasabi. Anyways, my partner was still hungry after his gyoza & sushi burger combo, so, he ordered an unagi sushi burger. So, in the end the food totalled at $44 for 2. Oh, and the home made Mochi is divine! I can't remember how much drinks were; we just had coke zero & ice tea, so, I think they may have overcharged us...

Have been eating sushi burger at this place for the past few years whenever we are in Melbourne. Limited operating hours but the soft shell crab sushi burger is something to die for. Tasty, reasonable size and never enough. Popular with the younger crowd. Friendly and efficient service.

The choices were very good and the sandwiches were excellent. I couldn't imagine a sandwich with rice however the beff/pork burger I had was very tasty. We have waited a long time to eat there (previous openings didn't coincide with our theatre times but new opening hours meant we could have a meal there this time and we weren't dissappointed. Remember what polite and friendly people the Japanese are but don't expect them to vary the menu; just enjoy what they prepare.

I was in Melbourne for 1 week with my mum for my birthday, so I made sure we stopped by because who doesn't want to eat sushi in the shape of a burger. The food was amazing! Really fresh and well presented. I always recommend this place to friends, family and co-workers. I will be back soon for sure.
