3.5Bought a mixed sushi pack today from Sushi Hub as was starving and it had been ages since I had eaten sushi (largely due to WFH for the past 3 months). The tray was actually so generous. Was able to share. I loved the Tuna which had a goodTexture and flavour. Several had lettuce within them which I’m not such a fan of but overall a nice mixAnd served with plenty of wasabi, ginger and soy sauce.
PROS<br/ often busy but never waiting longer than it takes to decide what you're getting. Fresh, delicious and broad variety of small dishes with my favourite being there selection of inaris and nigiris. Sushi train at the back. Professional and efficient service, clean and fresh. Everything I want<br/ <br/ CONS<br/ There should be an option of getting food on a plastic washable plate if eating in. So much plastic when I'm eating at the venue anyway. They have the plates from the sushi train area anyway.<br/ <br/ FYI<br/ There is a seating area and sauces etc available if you'd prefer eating in as I do. Try the seeweed inari or the ell nigiri next time you go. Lots of locations but I find the variety here better and the seating area is convenient. They even have hand sanitizer for after you've eaten.
After visiting museums I came to the 'Sushi Hub ' on Elizabeth Street, one of six places of that Australian chain in Melbourne CBD. The place was rather small, but it had a good selection of Maki Rolls, Sashimi, Inari, Nigiri. Many people seem to come here for take away, but one can also sit down. There is Wasabi Sauce, Soja and Ginger à discretion in self service, mostly in small sachets.<br/ <br/ Apparently this chain was started in the Asian neighbourhood of Cabramatta outside Sydney and now has over 80 stores all over Australia.
J rates the restaurant 3.75 stars. She ordered takeaway for lunch on Sunday, January 26th. The service was friendly and prompt. She enjoyed the DIY soy and ginger. In her order, she had a sushi sandwich for $2.50, which included tamago, salmon, avocado, and lots of mayo. It was nice but fell apart easily. She also had an unagi and tamago sushi maki roll for $3, which was really big, moist, and tasty. Lastly, she tried the veggie tempura nigiri sushi for $1.80, which was crisp, tasty, and came in a nice large piece of tempura.
This is a regular lunch spot for me. It's always crowded, and for good reason. They have an excellent variety of different sashimi and sushi that you can order as takeaway as well as a sushi train for those who want to eat in. I regularly buy the salmon sashimi, and it's always fresh. It would be great if they had a salmon/tuna sashimi option. The prices are very reasonable and even though it's crowded, the line moves pretty quickly. Will definitely keep coming back.
