The Old Raffles Place - Melbourne

I'd forgotten what great Asian cuisine tasted like. The two porkbelly dishes the 5 of us shared were extraordinarily good. The remainder of the dishes were excellent as well. Light flaky roti, a beautiful dry chlii beef that I have been searching for years. All of us left happy, after this great food and good chats, with the owner.

As always the food and the cheery service was terrific. Nine of us this time and all loved it.

We have eaten here a few times and the food is always great. Everything on the menu sounds great but unfortunately you can't try everything hah. Need to keep coming back to try everything. Fast, friendly and excellent service from the owners and and a great atmosphere with some contextual history on the walls if you're interested. You should eat here. Today.

Amazing flavours, interesting dishes, authentic. Atmosphere right for you if you love eating in a restaurant on bare tables and sit on old chairs. Same feeling in the late 70s in Singapore. There is nothing fake about this restaurant the food comes at you and when it does you can appreciate why people love to come back.

Generous servings and nice broth<br/ racecourse CKT: lots of prawns and squid, great flavours<br/ vegetarian spring rolls: tasty<br/ satay chicken: loved the satay sauce, chicken a bit firm/dry<br/ lobak: nice<br/ calamari: not bad<br/ Really friendly service, recommended.
