We booked a table for two for our 42 wedding anniversary, specifically asking not to be on their bench wall because the tables are too close together and you feel like you are part of a group. The person I spoke to said that it would be fine. When we arrived, however, we were offered a seat on the bench wall between two other dining groups that were both less than 30cm away. When we refused that seating we were offered a similar arrangement next to the bar! We left. When I rang to complain to the manageress, she cut me off immediately, said she would run the place however she liked and we should take our business elsewhere! She then hung up the phone! Incredibly rude, as described by many other reviewers. My wife also rang and asked to speak to the owner but the person at the other end promptly hung up! If you don't plan to accommodate a request, why say that you will? We made the effort to go to this restaurant on the basis that we would get a nice table. We wasted our time.
Really a 3.5 so rounded up. Overall the food was good. Menu was strange with a mix of Italian dishes and Asian dishes. Just feels weird having a dumpling section on a Italian menu...Actually probably too many options. Expect about $20+ for entrees and $35-45 for mains some needing sides . Service was attentive as there were quite a few staff on for dinner. But not that “friendly feel” kind of service. Had the lights turned off on us after we paid the bill, whilst waiting for one in the group to go to the bathroom ?! . Left feeling confused.
Dropped in whilst passing and hankering for pasta-good Italian pasta. Garlic bread was delicious, small little focaccia- plenty of garlic. I had gnocchi lamb ragu -AMAZING. Chunks of tender lamb. Hubby had cod fritters then salad with cod lettuce, avocado and pomegranates with honey mustard sauce -simple but so tasty -friendly prompt service though a tad loud but it is Xmas do understandable -will return definitely with friends
Consistently performs. Kitchen is pristine. Always a delight. Myrto and her team never disappoint. An Ivanhoe icon. Always a joy.
We had the a work dinner in the private area of this restaurant. Strangely for an italian place there was quite a lot of asian food. We had a sharing menu and the high light for me was the fish cakes. I enjoyed the Ashbrook chardonnay and Torzi shiraz.
