Contribuisci feedbackIf you read my last review of Wood & Chimney @ Melbourne Central you will see a great review but this time was so-so. (but only because pizza)I always order their classic Margherita pizza which is one of the best non high end pizza restaurants pizza's you can eat in Melbourne. Normally this pizza on any other day but Monday's $10 special day is $14 & it is perfect (read my other review for ingredients) but the $10 version is ahhh dont want to be rude to the chef but kinda cardboard-ish. Base too thin, sauce not thick enough, a lack of mozzarella & bocconcini, crust not big & fluffy like I know they make on the original version.Staff was very nice served us very well & we choose great seating outside the restaurant & it was pretty busy unlike the last few times I have visited. The best thing about the Monday specials besides the pizza's was the $10 jugs of beer. I personally like this restaurant & its basically the first place I go to as soon as I check in my bags at the hotel then up to Melbourne Central for a good old Margherita pizza & beer @ Wood & Chimney. In no way am I disapproving of W&C @MC it just my opinion to visit not in the Monday 'specials' time slot (for $10 pizza's).Note to staff & chefs @ W&C: great work guys I love your food & you always make me & my family & friends welcome. Always be back everytime :)STAFF RATING: 9/10PIZZA RATING : 4/10 (non $10 special 9/10)ATMOSPHERE: 8/10OVERALL RATING: 7/10
First time visiting this place and what a great restaurant. I had pasta and garlic bread and it would be the best Penne calabrese i have enjoyed hot just not to hot. The staff were friendly and delivered meals to table quickly. Would definitely be back.
My daughters and son in law were going somewhere else, but this place was too full. We walked around and saw Wood 'n Chimney. Service was attentive, food was delicious and arrived quickly. Would love to go again, very nice cocktails as well!
Went with my friend and 18yr old son. The food arived hot and quickly. The flavours were really nice. Totally recommen the slow cooked lamb souvlaki' , pumpkin risotto and tortellini alfedo. Service was great. I dropped my fork and they were over in minutes to ask to replace it. Nothing was too much trouble.
Wood n Chimney offer a good lunch menu at a reasonable price, but don't expect too much in the way of fine dining, or swift service. You get what you pay for. Which is not a bad thing, as long as your expectations are right. I have had lunch a few times and leave filled.
