Zanetti Cafe Bar Restaurant - Melbourne

Ivanhoe is getting trendy now, so must the restaurants around here.Zanetti is cozy, quite good but outdated .... foodwise .... Seafood Chowder is just as good as anywhere.Mains; very good presentation on most meals .... do try Lamb Shoulder and King George Whiting ...... Ragu was good apart from the lack of seasoning and boldness, overcooked Prawns and Scallops Marinara, although Linguine's were just a tad over "aldente". Steak was overcooked, okay sauce so is the Atlantic Salmon.Ordinary desserts, so is their coffee/Latte.For what it was on Groupon, great value and dining experience, it needs a bit of spruiking in the kitchen and a bit in the interior, that should do the trick, thank you. Amazing breakfast fare and great coffee As a large group we were well catered for and in a timely manner. Split bill was not an issue which is always a bonus

Had a group on for dinner for 2 people.As we entered, the restaurant wasnt busy on a Saturday night, should have been 1st warning. Service was great, cannot fault that at all.The food, well it was not impressive. Perhaps it was because we had a groupon, but it was bad, tinned olives, dips from what tasted like the supermarket, mains were not even what we ordered, it looked like something I would throw together if I was in a rush for dinner, half of the ingredients were missing. Dessert, well that was pre-ordered cake, so it was ok, coffee?Very badly burnt coffee. I think this place is trying to go out of business.Sorry but this experience was not good.

Staying nearby we found Zanetti to be perfect. We had dinner there on two nights, service excellent, food was contemporary and excellent. Their Tuesday steak night was a hit with us both - the best steak I've had for ages.

I used a scoopon voucher here which made for tremendous value for 6 of us- a 3 course dinner plus wine. Service was good and all of us really enjoyed our different meals. Highly recommend with a dinner deal.
