Giovanni Pizza & Kebap - Melk

Since nothing else was open and this was around 6 p.m. on a Sunday evening in July our hotel recommended this place since it was open. It was busy, full of locals. We sat ourselves, then moved as someone was smoking in the door...way. After about 15 I got up and took a menu off an empty table. After 30 min. of waiting a woman asked if would like drinks, we said yes, then she walked away, without a drink order, never to look our way or eye contact us as she passed our table, many times. After 50 min we left. Not sure what the problem was, plenty of help, not especially busy. We had nothing to eat that night.

Our group of six needed a late lunch. There was a big cycling event coming through town, so most of the restaurants were full. We walked down Wiener Strasse to find a small pizza place on the right (just past where you would turn to...go uphill to the Abbey, but on the other side of the narrow road . The service does not speak English and it looks like they cater to carry-out and a local crowd. We bought a couple of pizzas and a salad. Everything was great. Who ever heard of a kabab pizza? We entered begrudgingly (really? a pizza joint? but left very satisfied with this unique experience. The pizzas were huge, so beware of ordering the larger size!

Die Pizzen sind gut aber nicht hervorragend. Man wird satt ist aber danach nicht glücklicher als vorher ;-) Der Service ist nett, das Ambiente okay. Am besten man nimmt die Pizza mit oder lässt sie liefern.

Why is there no kebap more than pizza food? that makes me very sad.
