Afternoon Tea At Stapleford Park

The restaurant is overpriced at £41, with a service charge of 25.25 split between four people, making the total cost of afternoon tea £47.32. Unfortunately, the quality of the afternoon tea did not justify this high price. While it was enjoyable, it was not exceptional or extraordinary. We have experienced better afternoon teas elsewhere.

I was treated to afternoon tea by some friends and was excited to visit the restaurant, as I had enjoyed their tea many years ago. Unfortunately, like many other reviewers, I experienced issues with delays, lack of staff, and sandwich quality (cold, thick, and dry). Thankfully, I did not have to pay or I would have complained. The hotel is located in a beautiful spot, but it seems to struggle with occupancy. This has led to maintenance issues and the use of plug-in heaters instead of central heating. It's a shame, but they are not the only ones facing these problems. I was also surprised to learn that the golf course no longer exists.

My experience at this restaurant today was amazing from beginning to end. The staff were incredibly helpful, even allowing me to decorate with balloons for my friend's hen party afternoon tea. The tea was delicious, especially the sandwiches which we were offered more of. The variety of teas was lovely, and we were even given the option of having coffee with our decadent desserts. The little extra touches made the occasion truly special. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.

Visited for a family catch up. One of us gluten intolerant so we pre booked ahead. Arrived and were seated, left for probably 20 minutes looking at the menu. Overall service was very slow. At times when we were looking for a member of staff there was no one in the afternoon tea room, not in the bar. Table set up had items missing. Due to lack of staff, it was then hard to find anyone to resolve things that weren't right for example when the afternoon tea arrived with the jam and cream there were no spoons provided, and in the absence of being able to find a member of staff we used our teaspoons, and tea refills took a very long time as there were no staff around. So disappointed with the quality of the gluten free cakes, see photo. In summary, personal experience was disappointing and would not return for afternoon tea.
