Captain King's Seafood City - Memphis

Food was horrible and cold. The lights went out and we had just started eating. They told us we could not get a refund or meal comp just told to wait. They still served food with no drinks and had the nerves to sing happy birthday to a crown in a dark room. The server was even worse. She told me and my 3 year old niece to move out of her way. We couldn't eat or drink or get our money back and the server said to bad.

So my wife takes me here for Father's Day when we arrived we were lucky to find a parking spot, we went inside and it looked like there was hundreds of people in there, so I was thinking if it's this busy it must be awesome .....well after waiting for at least an hour in line just to get to the buffet I grabbed me a couple plates and got what I thought I'd like to eat.When we reached our table that they had seated us at there was a gentleman there eating so the hostess just happened to be walking by, I caught her and I said what's up that was our table it still has our receipt on it and there's someone else sitting there eating so they put us at another table, anyway the food was mediocre at best definitely not worth waiting an hour standing in line for.At 40 something dollars for two people to eat I can do much better elsewhere.

This is essentially the Golden Corral of Memphis. There's a very Ryan's vibe to this place (if you remember the old buffet chain from back in the day). However, they have an excellent deal on the boils that I haven't seen anywhere else that allows you to try a bunch of different things, and this is included in the price of your buffet. All in all a great value for what you get.

The food is good. It"s always well seasoned and hot. My biggest issues are people who whole up the line by trying to pile their plate until food falls off. It's a buffet they can come back for seconds. Then there are the ones who let their kids come up there and make a mess, reach over the food, while they're digging in their noses.

Food is great. Something for everyone. Build your own seafood boil, unlimited... can't beat that. Try the king crab sauce!
