Elwood's Shack - Memphis

The smoked jerk wings were seasoned just right with a nice level of smokiness, and they came with ranch and BBQ sauce on the side. The BBQ sauce had a nice tang and was full of flavor. However, my son wasn't a fan of his chili dog because the chili was quite spicy, with a heavy hand on the cayenne seasoning. It was too much for him as a kid. I tried a bite of his chili dog, and while it had a fantastic overall flavor, I agreed that the cayenne was a bit overwhelming for someone with a milder palate. I will definitely return to try more dishes the next time I'm in that area!

During our trip back home, we made a stop in Memphis to experience the renowned Memphis BBQ, and we definitely hit the jackpot! My husband and I shared the Shack Attack, and I can confidently say it had the best ribs I've ever tasted—no question about it. They just fell off the bone as soon as we picked them up; there was no need for a knife or fork. The wet BBQ sauce was incredibly flavorful, and the brisket, pork, and chicken were all fantastic too. The beans were bursting with flavor as well—honestly, everything was AMAZING and DELICIOUS. The service was friendly, genuine, and excellent too! I would give it a 1000/10 recommendation!!!!

The menu here is extensive and features a variety of unique dishes that are absolutely outstanding. If you're in search of an inviting atmosphere, this might not be the spot for you as it's quite a humble establishment. However, the food is exceptional! I tried the meatloaf melt topped with jalapeños and bacon jam, while my wife ordered the steelhead trout fish taco. We thoroughly enjoyed both dishes. The bathroom was well-maintained and stocked. The service was friendly, and the staff was attentive.

I dined here with a friend, and it was fantastic. I ordered the BBQ pizza, and the quality and quantity of the meat toppings were outstanding. I will definitely be returning!
