Contribuisci feedbackI went for steak night on a Saturday and fish fry on Friday. Fish fry was disappointing (2 . Very mediocre and overpriced. However, the frog legs were excellent. My ribeye on the Saturday visit was exceptional and reasonably priced (4+ I'll go back for steak. Very limited menu.
My husband and I just moved to the area and we are in search of our “go to” place for Friday night fish fry. Last night we decided on Cimarron. It was very busy which was promising. We don’t mind waiting and having a few old fashioneds for an hour to an hour and a half if the food is good.We initially walked into the bar area and it was pretty packed. I didn’t see a hostess station so I thought maybe we check in at the bar which is like the supper club I bartended at until we moved. After a few minutes a waitress walked by and I stopped her quick to ask. She led us to a back room which was more of a dining area. I now noticed there were multiple entrances to the building. Maybe a few signs outside would be beneficial. We got to the hostess stand and it was a bit chaotic. When I gave her my name for the waiting list, the hostess just said “it’s going to be a while” and stared at me. Again. We don’t mind waiting and since it was so busy it must be good, right? We only ended up waiting around 20 minutes which was awesome. Our server was very friendly. It was her first Friday night and if she was stressed it did not show. She was probably the best part of the evening. The food was not.I ordered Bluegill which I love. It’s my go to if it’s on the menu. My first impression when I had my plate was “hmmm. I’ve never had such thick bluegill”. It was double what I’ve normally seen and a very consistent thickness through the whole fish. I thought it was weird but chose to take a bite anyway. It was soooooooooo fishy tasting. It was either super old or was definitely not bluegill. Even my husband thought it was disgusting and he eats everything. This likely won’t be a place we go back to. May give it a second chance to try steaks on Saturday night sometime but no to the bluegill. My husband had the seafood platter and he liked it just fine. I stole a shrimp and it was good. So clearly it’s just some thingsTry at your own risk and only eat what is most popular.
Food was ok. Had to wait a long time for service while in the bar area. This was our first visit not aware of the rules. When I ordered a drink at the bar, I asked about food the bartender stated that she would have to get a waitress over to our table. After waiting a while (15-20 minutes); we contemplated just finishing my drink then leaving. My hubby decided to check with the bartender about ordering food... other patrons in the bar area had ordered, had been served. Maybe this was an oversight, still made us feel uncomfortable. Anyway, while at the bar, he noticed a much larger restaurant area in a different section that we were not aware of; the bartender asked a waitress for help and they barked back an aggressive response... feel free to fill in the blank here. Many restaurants are experiencing a lack of staff, which probably added stress to the situation, but nothing says to a new customer go away you 're not welcome here like the response he overheard. We were going to leave when a waitress popped over, took our order, and the food was up lickety-split. The food was ok, acceptable, but we won 't be back. We came we saw and now we go away.
Good perch, although a bit pricey. Very busy there, and the band was setting up. But we had a very good time. We sat in the bar area. The back area is very nice if a booth is available. Other items on the menu reasonable.
Uncomfortable interacting with the staff. I was told no to being allowed to sit and wait for my date at the table and then they told me I couldn't order a steak cause it was Friday. I don't ever go out my way to rate a restaurant yet my experience was so bad I felt this was necessary. I definitely didn't feel welcome here and won't ever go back.
